Extending the Life of Your NiMH Battery Pack: Optimal Practices

When you first receive your new battery pack, make sure to fully recharge it. Avoid over-discharging the battery; stop using it when you notice a decline in performance. Similarly, do not overcharge the battery; remove it from the charger once the recharging process is complete.

Heat can significantly shorten battery life, so refrain from charging or discharging the battery when it is hot. Allow the batteries to cool down to room temperature before using or charging them.

To maintain the battery's longevity, store it with a moderate charge level, not a low voltage. Recharge the battery after each use to prevent over-discharge. Keep the battery in a dry, cool place, away from heat and direct sunlight.

If the battery will be unused or stored for an extended period, recharge it once every six months to avoid damage from prolonged low-voltage storage.

It is crucial to exercise caution when dealing with Lithium Polymer (LiPO) batteries. Do not charge any battery if the label indicates it is a LiPO, Li-Po, Li-Polymer, Li-Poly, Lithium Polymer, Li-ion, or Lithium-Ion battery. Failure to heed these warnings may result in fire or personal injury.
